Huntmore Bellezza, a.k.a. Sis (FDSB# 1659746)

Sis is a proven producer of classy, athletic, old-time grouse, pheasant, and quail dogs who develop early and train naturally.  Virtually all of them have retrieved naturally with very little encouragement.  Her puppies get it honestly from this 43 lb. stylist, herself an easily handling go-getter who pointed, backed, and retrieved naturally at an early age. Sis is the consummate family dog, an easy keeper dying for attention, a sturdy female with the classic profile and ear set we find particularly beautiful.  This gorgeous female is of particular value to our program as she carries a high percentage of our foundation sire, Awbonnie's Bull, himself an uncanny bird finder  who remains the performance standard in our family's notion of "greatness" in a mountain grouse dog. Sis exhibits more of Bull's traits than any other dog we have had; this litter by Parker should produce some outstanding companion gun dogs sure to please the most discriminating bird hunter.

Blizzard's Huntmore Bella

Bella is, in a word, an "athlete."  This sturdy, 45lb female is hard going yet tractable, tenacious on the hunt, with the nose and brains to excel. When she slams into points, she dead solid stays put , period!   So much point - Check out the photo of her locked down on a small setter garden statue in our yard; Bella swung in and locked up and "backed" that little Llewellin likeness! Her 12 o'clock tail is rooted high on the back like it should, insuring plenty of "rear wheel drive," a hallmark of all our bloodstock.  With Bella, it was all natural from puppyhood on.  Her tight feet, correct bite, well sprung ribs and the classic Blizzard Llewellin head with a proper stop and square muzzle makes this robust female breathtakingly beautiful. Bella is sweet and loving, the total package - a superb representative of the Blizzard line and of Huntmore Kennel.

Rivers Dashing Dixie (#1626306)

We continue to get rave reviews from our Parker X Dixie puppies, many of whom are pulling short stints in the wild bird field at under six months old, hunting with uncommon drive and speed, pointing with intensity and high style.  These are high energy, go-go prospects whose tenacity in the field belie their calm demeanor as household companions.   Parker X Dixie puppies are light-footed, short-coupled dynamos that point with crackling energy and high, poker straight tails.  These are bird hunters' bird dogs, fearless in thick cover, ambitious in open country.  They seem to gain confidence and savvy with every bird contact and are the perfect fit for the experienced gunner who knows what he or she wants from a bird dog companion and likes a bold dog that goes hard to game and slams into points that are unforgettable.

Born of royal blood, Rivers Dashing Dixie was raised here at Huntmore, the paternal granddaughter of our own grouse savant Huntmore Bleu Spice.  Dixie carries two lines to the great Awbonnies Bull, two lines to Highway Dan, 1999 National Llewellin Setter Gun Dog Classic winner, the 2001 Midwest Llewellin Setter Classic winner, and 2001 Kentucky Open Llewellin Setter Gun Dog winner.

At six months, she was placed with our New Hampshire friend George Gubitose where she developed into a fine performer on woodcock and grouse.  The Gubitose family produced four litters of fine wild bird dogs with Dixie, before, in a gesture of real friendship, sending her home to Huntmore to contribute to our family life and Llewellin breeding program.

In March 2017, we bred her to Blizzard’s Huntmore Parker, producing a litter that is proving out as exceptional companion gun dogs.  Opportunity is all they’ve needed;  the talent was put there by Dixie and Parker.  Our friend Kurt Robbins put his Parker/Dixie daughter down in the Georgia grouse woods as soon as she could navigate the cover.  He messaged the day, as he said, “…(T)he light switch came on!”, and he killed two grouse and a woodcock over Ginger’s solid points.  According to Kurt, she handled easily and was “a hunting machine,” highlighting her season by pointing a woodcock with the grouse she was retrieving secured in her mouth!  Surely you can see why we have high hopes for this repeat breeding, due in May, ready to start in your coverts this autumn.

In the field, Dixie is a 43 lb. dynamo, a shorter-coupled, balanced dog running on tight feet and a powerful rear drive anchored by a high-set, short straight tail.  She ranges comfortably and with purpose, pointing with electric intensity.  Dixie is also an engaging companion dog, a favorite with our children.  With Parker, she produces charismatic, well-marked puppies with square-chiseled heads and brains that rival their beauty.  Dixie/Parker puppies start early, develop quickly, and show a strong carrying trait as natural retrievers.

Blizzard's Huntmore Mia (#1676003)

Mia is 42lbs of the sweetest loving female in one package! Natural in every aspect and an early developer, Mia is a class act with proper conformation, symmetry,  well shaped head, tight cat-like feet, cracking tail set high on the back and outstanding nose. She wants to please and lives to find birds. She is also the favorite of Anna my wife and loves a good snuggle .

Blizzard's Huntmore Laurel (#1670524)

Laurel sports a classic look and build, high style on point and a beautifully masked tri-color head. Weighing 38 lbs., her build and body are exceedingly well-balanced with a square head and muzzle, tight feet and tail set high upon the back as it should be. Naturally staunch early on with a good nose and high tail on point, Laurel has plenty of desire to find game and to hunt to the gun. She  moves with good speed with a light-footed gait that can go all day.
